Q: Why did you become an educator?

A: I’ve always loved school. I love children and helping them learn. I also love working with teachers and parents to help students to be successful.

Q: What’s the best thing about being a principal?

A: The best thing about being a principal is having contact with all of the students and teachers in my school.

Q: What is really special about your school?

A: T.E. Baxter Elementary is very proud of its namesake, Mr. T.E. Baxter. He still reads to classes every week and is always present for our first day of school. We are also thankful for our caring staff and our outstanding students.

Q: What is the biggest challenge you face this school year?

A: We are closely watching the development and implementation of the new assessment and accountability programs for Texas Public Schools. We are proud of our accomplishments [Note: Rated Exemplary], and we strive to continue our growth and improvement in all academic areas.
