Q: Why did you become an educator?
A: I felt called into the profession, not fully realizing His purpose for me. As I grew as an educator, I began to see my purpose in life, to make a difference – instill hope, encourage, support, praise, etc.
Q: What’s the best thing about being a principal?
A: Setting the course, the roadmap, and then supporting teachers and students along the way, taking the opportunity to inspire, encourage, and motivate them, too.
Q: What’s really special about your school?
A: It is a positive place. Our folks have a good attitude which shapes how teachers and students approach their tasks.
Q: What’s the biggest challenge you face this school year?
A: To maintain/raise the expectations for students and staff … being consistent (the gatekeeper) regarding values and norms that have been so crucial in student and teacher success, and doing this in the midst of growth and financial challenges.
