Midlothian ISD’s assistant principals participate in an Assistant Principal Academy. In the 2010-11 school year, there is one Academy session for the first semester and two sessions in the spring semester. One of the tasks in the first meeting was to answer three questions: (1) Why did you become an educator?, (2) What’s the best thing about being [an assistant] principal?, and (3) What’s really special about your school? Each Assistant Principal will be featured in a separate blog with the answers to the questions.
Mr. Kyle Chambers is the assistant principal at J. A. Vitovsky Elementary School.
Q: Why did you become an educator?
It started as a love and passion for the content I was teaching, but quickly changed to love and passion for students.
Q: What’s the best thing about being [an assistant] principal?
The ability to make a larger impact on more individuals. To be able to see the big picture and understand how students learn.
Q: What’s really special about your school?
The spirit of caring for students and each other, and acceptance of kids no matter what their background.
