Midlothian ISD’s assistant principals participate in an Assistant Principal Academy. In the 2010-11 school year, there is one Academy session for the first semester and two sessions in the spring semester. One of the tasks in the first meeting was to answer three questions: (1) Why did you become an educator?, (2) What’s the best thing about being [an assistant] principal?, and (3) What’s really special about your school? Each Assistant Principal will be featured in a separate blog with the answers to the questions.
Mr. Coy Tipton is an assistant principal at Frank Seale Middle School.
Q: Why did you become an educator?
I feel I was called by God through some outstanding teachers and coaches in my life.
Q: What’s the best thing about being [an assistant] principal?
The relationships that are built with students and parents.
Q: What’s really special about your school?
The atmosphere and culture that have been built, through the years, on high expectations and relationships with our community. We are family and we love our Cubs!
