Design Teams

Nancy Rindone-Doughney

On Thursday, Feb 2, 2012, Midlothian ISD hosted a workshop on design teams. Our facilitator was Nancy Rindone-Doughney a senior associate with the  Schlechty Center.

Each MISD school was represented by its principal and a member of the design team. The District Design Team was represented, too.

We were reintroduced to the definitions of design teams.

Campus design teams “fasten attention on designing systems that support teachers, students, parents, and other members of the school community in their efforts to design engaging work for students.”

District design teams “focus on developing the capacity of the entire school district to support innovations that increase the prospect of providing students with engaging work.”

Each design team small group selected a working goal, and when Nancy returns to the district in May (2012), those goals will serve as points of discussion.

It certainly was an engaging day as we revisited the work of design teams.
