Midlothian High School #2 (Phase 1) Update

Before architectural drawings were developed, the budgeted construction cost* of the Midlothian High School #2 (Phase 1) project was $56,155,175.

On May 21, 2012, the Midlothian ISD School Board approved a plan for the new school that is estimated to cost $56,112,883, or $42,292 under the original construction budget.

The Board also approved bid alternates to be considered at a later date. They are (1) ag classroom and workshop areas, (2) masonry tennis storage; (3) acoustic wall for the cafetorium; and (4) masonry press box and metal fences at the baseball and softball fields.

*Note: The estimated construction cost is for buildings, parking lots, fields, etc. Site work, furniture, fixtures, equipment, technology and other costs bring the total budgeted cost approximately $74,000,000.
