What Teachers Do Makes a Difference.

Almost before any other information, students want from their teachers the answers to two questions. Do you like me? Will you treat me fairly?

And teachers in their countless hours of preparation, the practice of their art and craft in their classrooms, and in the thousands of interactions with their students answer the questions.

“Yes, I will like you. But more than that, I promise my unconditional love.”

“Yes, I will treat you fairly. And more than that, I promise to treat you with dignity and respect.

William James is quoted, “Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.”

Teachers need not act, they know what they do makes a difference.
