“Take him away”

Nick was the first born child to Boris and Dushka Vujicic (pronounced Voy-a-chich). Dushka, before she saw her son, was told that he was born without arms and legs. When they put Nick next to his mother a few minutes after birth, she said, “Take him away … I don’t want to touch him or see him.”

Thus Nick Vujicic entered the world.

He recalls, “for the longest, loneliest time, I wondered if there was anyone on earth like me, and whether there was any purpose to my life other than pain and humiliation.”

Nick’s book, Life Without Limits, is his story about how he “overcame his disability to live an independent, rich, fulfilling life, becoming a model for anyone seeking true happiness.”

In future blogs and tweets, I will share with you a few of his stories, quotes, and more.

Note: Not to leave you hanging: Nick’s father and mother quickly recovered from the initial news about their son and fully loved and supported him.
