WWII Veteran Speaks

IMG_4200_2Charles “Papa” Arnold, a WWII USMC veteran, spoke to the fifth grade class at T. E. Baxter Elementary School on Dec 7, 2012 – Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.

Joining the service at age 17, Mr. Arnold was involved in several campaigns on the Pacific front starting in 1942.

Mr. Arnold’s eyes teared up – he paused a moment to regain his composure –  when he noted that he believes he was the only one in his platoon to make it home.

Thank you Mr. Arnold for your presentation and for your service. God bless you.
