June 7, 2103, was the last day of school for Midlohthian ISD’s 1012-13 school year. Three days later, on the Monday, June 10, I was in the local chiropractor’s office for a routine visit.
There was one other person – a very tired, sunburned woman – with me in the waiting area. She looked at me and asked, “Are you the superintendent of schools?”
“Yes,” I responded.
Half-jokingly she said, “Please, take my kids back!”
This true story reminds me that today – the day before the first day of the 2013-14 school year – most parents and their children are ready for school to begin.
And we, the faculty and staff of Midlothian ISD, are ready, too. We love school and some of the most wonderful things about it are your children, our family atmosphere, and our classroom and co- and extracurricular learning experiences.
Have a great school year!
