In the Bible, one reads:
For all have sinned … (Romans 3:23 (NKJV)).
“All” casts a broad net. It sweeps up, well, all of us, including all Christians.
That means that all Christians have sinned. If sinning were a race, 100% of those claiming Jesus as their Savior and Lord would have crossed the finish line.
Congratulations, Christians. As a group, you are perfect – you all have sinned.
But there is more to this story. Jesus taught His disciples to pray saying, in part:
And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone
who is indebted to us, (Luke 11: 4 (NKJV)).
Christians are perfect at sinning and, as a group after the salvation experience, just okay at asking for forgiveness. They take for granted the grace, mercy, and beauty of forgiveness, when it should be an active, not passive, part of their faith.
