The Jellyfish Lesson

The beach can be a beautiful place, but not for jellyfish. Jellyfish that ride the tide onto the beach perish.

The tide of politics pulls K-12 public education toward the beach.  Educators should resist.

It’s not change in and of itself that educators should resist. Change that strengthens who we are and what we do is welcomed. However, change that weakens that which is admirable about K-12 public education should be challenged.

The weakening of K-12 public education is not inevitable. Not every jellyfish ends up on the beach.
